The statue of Robert Peel the first one from Bury near Manchester coming out of the water of Salford Quays. Top left the Salford lads club, the young teddy boys and behind Sankey Soaps which is now a Manchester famous night club and in contrast with the new Salford Quays, boats and bridges. Robert Peel was Prime Minister of this country 1834-1835 and 1841-1846 he was quoted of saying “No Minister ever stood or could stand against public opinion”
